The glacier trail run in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl is one of the most renowned trail runs in the entire Ötztal region in Austria. There are four different trails to choose from on the glacier trail run, all of which are gruelling, challenging and breathtaking at the same time. Whether you opt for the 10 km trail, the 22.1 km trail, the marathon trail with a length of 42.195 km or the ultra trail with a length of 66 km. Each of the individual disciplines is extremely challenging and leads partly through alpine terrain. A whopping 3,900 metres in altitude await you on the longest route. The running course itself leads through all kinds of terrain, which is why you should be very technically adept. Your fitness level should also be at a very high level, as the starting point for each event is at an altitude of 2,000 metres. You also have to scrub up endless metres of altitude before you can enjoy the well-deserved finish.
