Are you always looking for your next adrenaline rush and can’t wait to dive into a new adventure? Then obstacle races and mud runs are perfect for you! In Germany, we are fortunate to have a wide selection of obstacle races held annually. With over 100 different obstacle races across the country, each event offers its own unique charm and character.
There are brutal obstacle races, fun-oriented events, competitions in the mountains or on flat terrain, with or without timing. Some races let you dive into the mud, while others push your physical fitness to the limit. The variety is enormous, so everyone can find the perfect obstacle race for their skill level and preference.
By now, every federal state in Germany hosts at least one obstacle race. This means you no longer have to travel hundreds of kilometers to participate in an event. The highest concentration of obstacle races can be found in North Rhine-Westphalia, Bavaria, Lower Saxony, Brandenburg, and Baden-Württemberg.
There are, on one hand, smaller local events with around 1,000 to 2,000 participants per race. On the other hand, major OCR (Obstacle Course Racing) events attract up to 25,000 participants.
