For those seeking a formidable trail running challenge, Rasus y Bannau offers an unparalleled experience in the heart of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. With three demanding race distances—100 km (63 miles), Ultra Trail (45 miles), and Marathon (26.5 miles)—participants are invited to navigate rugged terrains, ascend iconic peaks, and immerse themselves in the breathtaking landscapes of Wales.

Each route commences in the historic town of Brecon, leading runners up the challenging north ridge of Cribyn. From there, the courses traverse prominent summits such as Fan y Big, Pen y Fan, and Fan Fawr, offering panoramic vistas that reward the arduous climbs. The 100 km route extends further west, guiding participants along the Beacons Way to the majestic Fan Brycheiniog in the Black Mountain range, before looping back eastward over undulating mountain tops. 

Runners can expect well-supported checkpoints stocked with refreshments, including water, energy drinks, and a variety of snacks. The event emphasizes self-sufficiency and mountain safety, requiring participants to carry compulsory gear to navigate the potentially harsh and unpredictable weather conditions.
