The Itämeri Marathon offers a unique running experience along the picturesque coastline of Hanko, Finland's southernmost town. Scheduled annually for early October, this event invites participants to embrace the crisp autumn air and stunning sea views while supporting the protection of the Baltic Sea.

Runners can choose from three distances: the Marathon, Half Marathon, and Quarter Marathon (10.5 km), catering to various fitness levels. The start and finish lines are conveniently located at Central School, Halmstadinkatu 2, serving as the hub for race-day activities. The event office operates on the preceding Friday evening and from Saturday morning until the evening, facilitating bib number collection and providing assistance to participants.

The courses are designed to showcase Hanko's natural beauty, featuring flat and fast routes that wind through coastal landscapes, charming villas, and serene beach promenades. Along the way, refreshment stations offer water, juice, sports drinks, and snacks to keep runners energized. Post-race, participants can enjoy amenities such as dressing rooms, showers, and a café serving warm beverages and treats.
