The OMV Half Marathon in Altötting has been organised since 1992. The OMV Half Marathon in Altötting has become famous above all for its beautiful running route, 80% of which runs along paved forest paths. But not only that, the OMV Half Marathon is also the fastest natural marathon in the world.
The running course itself leads right through the Altötting Forest and offers pure nature. Unlike many other marathon events, which are mostly held in urban areas, the OMV Half Marathon is primarily for nature lovers. Another highlight for participants is the finish line. This runs directly through the Altöttinger Stimmungsmeile and is accompanied by samba drummers and hard rock bands. Incidentally, the fastest male runner finished the OMV Half Marathon in a time of 1:01:39. The women's record is 1:08:38.
