Dresden Marathon

Description

The Dresden Marathon is one of the most traditional marathons that Germany has to offer, as it is being organised for the 25th time this year. But not only that, the Dresden Marathon is also one of the most beautiful city marathons in Germany, as the running route leads directly through the city centre, along the famous sights of Dresden.

You can choose one of three running routes for the Dresden Marathon. You can take part in the 10 km fun run, the half marathon or the actual marathon. The absolute highlights of the running course are Dresden city centre itself, with all its sights, the Great Garden and the route along the Elbe meadows. This means that if you take part in the Dresden Marathon, you will get to see almost everything that Dresden has to offer and for which Dresden has become famous. The running course is a flat circuit that runs almost exclusively on tarmac. In 2019, over 9,000 runners are expected across all disciplines, making the Dresden Marathon one of the largest marathon events in Germany.
