Every year, the Backnang New Year's Eve Run is the sporting highlight in this small town of 35,000 inhabitants. The central location of the Backnang New Year's Eve Run attracts around 9,000 spectators to the edge of the course and 1,200 participants to the course. Remarkable - for such a small town and the fact that the Backnang New Year's Eve Run has only been organised since 2014.
The running route is a very flat 5 km circuit directly through the centre of Backnang. You can choose whether you want to take part in the 5-km run for everyone or the main race, the 10-km fun run. The running course is asphalted throughout and runs right past the spectators, so you can look forward to a great atmosphere even at the edge of the running course. This makes the Backnang New Year's Eve run the perfect way to end the year on a sporty note and get in the mood for the festivities in the evening.
